Job summary

Oakmoor Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Maths Tutor to deliver engaging Maths programmes, supporting learners to build confidence and achieve recognised qualifications. The role is full-time and on-site in Stoke-on-Trent, with a starting salary of 30,000 per annum and enhanced pay for strong qualifications.

You will plan and deliver creative lessons, assess progress, maintain learner records and foster an inclusive environment where every learner can participate and succeed.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Functional Skills Maths up to Level 2.
• Recognised teaching or training qualification (ideally L5 or above).
• A Level 3 qualification in Maths (minimum).
• Strong lesson planning, assessment and learner-management skills.
• Experience supporting young people with a range of needs or barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Skills Maths from Entry Level 1 through to Level 2.
• Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to different abilities and learning needs.
• Motivate learners who may have experienced barriers or disengagement from traditional education.
• Assess and monitor learner progress, achievement, attendance and engagement.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date learner records.

Location: Stoke on Trent
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday

Are you passionate about helping learners achieve their potential? We are looking for an experienced Maths Tutor to deliver engaging Functional Skills Maths programmes, supporting learners to build confidence and achieve recognised qualifications.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping learners overcome barriers and achieve their potential. You will deliver engaging Maths tuition while providing the encouragement, structure and individual support young people need to progress towards further education, training, employment and greater independence.

The successful candidate will be a confident and adaptable practitioner who can build positive relationships with learners, respond calmly to challenging situations and create an inclusive environment in which every young person feels able to participate and succeed.

About You

You will ideally have:
