Job summary

KM Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Functional Skills Maths Tutor to join a centre-based delivery team. You will teach Functional Skills Maths up to Level 2, using existing resources and creating your own when needed, while delivering engaging sessions and providing guidance to learners.

The role emphasizes flexible delivery, differentiation for varied abilities, and helping learners identify skills and career paths.

Qualifications

• Experience of delivering Functional Skills Maths.
• Must hold Level 3 qualification in Maths.
• Experience delivering training to small groups of learners.
• Working towards Level 5 Teaching qualification.
• Energetic, engaging and able to motivate learners.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Able to work on own initiative and stay motivated.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Skills Maths, within a classroom environment (up to Level 2).

Duties

• Deliver Functional Skills Maths, within a classroom environment (up to Level 2).
• Utilise existing delivery resources, as well as preparing own when required.
• Deliver engaging training sessions and provide ongoing IAG to learners.
• The successful candidate will be flexible with their delivery methods, providing differentiation and be able to adapt quickly to learners needs.
• Assist learners in identifying the skills required to progress towards their career aspirations.
• The successful candidate must be engaging and able to demonstrate energy and passion to motivate / train clients in order to help learners realise their potential.
• Promote Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.

Essential Criteria

• Experience of delivering Functional Skills Maths
• Must hold own Level 3 qualification in Maths.
• Must have experience of delivering training to small groups of learners
• Hold - or be willing to work towards - a Level 5 Teaching qualification.
• Demonstrable energy and passion to motivate and train clients.
