Job summary

Novus, part of the LTE Group, is seeking a Functional Skills Maths Teacher to join its team at HMP Frankland. This permanent, full-time role offers 37 hours per week and a competitive salary with pension and benefits.

You will deliver functional skills maths, support learners, and contribute to safeguarding and inclusion within a dynamic education environment.

Qualifications

• Hold a teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months
• Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
• Have experience in creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners
• Have previous track record showing achievement of quality targets
• Have successfully produced accurate and timely reports
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Can motivate and enthuse learners
• Have organisational skills to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets
• Demonstrate positive team working

We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Frankland, working as a Functional Skills Maths Teacher. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

Site Information

HMP Frankland is a Category A men's prison located in the village of Brasside in County Durham, England. Frankland is operated by His Majesty's Prison Service, and is located next to HM Prison Low Newton, a closed women's prison. Though traditionally holding men serving more than four years, since 2005 Frankland has also taken category A remand prisoners. In 2019, it was designated as a prison with a training function.

To be successful in this role, you will need to:
