Job summary

Maven in Stirling is seeking an experienced WCA Functional Assessor to join our healthcare team. The role involves carrying out 5 assessments daily (phone, video or in person) and producing precise reports to support DWP benefit decisions.

The position offers a starting salary of £39,500 per year with hybrid/home working, 9am–5pm hours, and generous annual leave plus pension; on-site Stirling when required with CPD support.

• Full time and part time available (3, 4 or 5 days per week available)

What does the WCA Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day who are claiming for WCA (Work Capability Assessment). A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their ability to perform work-related activity. Youll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

What we look for;

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist with 1 years or more broad post-registration experience
• Someone whos proactive and keen to learn
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Competent IT and computer skills
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health
