Job summary

Maven in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced WCA Functional Assessor to conduct client assessments for Work Capability Assessments. The role involves telephone, video, or in-person assessments to understand how health conditions affect work-related activity.

You will gather information and produce reports to support DWP decisions. An NMC or HCPC qualification with post-registration experience is required, plus strong communication and IT skills.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) or HCPC qualified professional.
• 1+ year post-registration experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Competent IT and computer skills.
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health.

Responsibilities

• Carry out 5 client assessments per day for WCA.
• Conduct telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments.
• Produce factual reports to inform DWP eligibility decisions.

What is on offer as a WCA Functional Assessor?

• Excellent starting salary at £39,500pa
• Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm working hours
• Full time and part time available (3, 4 or 5 days per week available)
• Bridgendbased when working on-site

What does the WCA Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day who are claiming for WCA (Work Capability Assessment). A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their ability to perform work-related activity. Youll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

What we look for;

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist with 1 years or more broad post-registration experience
• Someone whos proactive and keen to learn
