Job summary

The Maven Group Ltd is seeking a WCA Functional Assessor to perform around five client assessments daily via telephone, video, or in person. You will gather information, listen to experiences, and produce a factual report to support DWP decisions.

Full training is provided and you will be paid your full-time salary during training. The role offers hybrid/home working from Newport with a strong emphasis on accuracy and communication.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse (RGN/RMN) or HCPC-qualified Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with 1+ year post-registration experience.
• Proactive and keen to learn.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Competent IT and computer skills.
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health.

Responsibilities

• Carry out 5 client assessments per day via telephone, video or face-to-face.
• Produce a factual report to assist DWP in determining benefit eligibility.
• Gather information and ensure accuracy of the assessment report.
• Participate in full training and receive your full-time salary during training.

Job description

What does the WCA Functional Assessor role involve?

The WCA Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their ability to perform work-related ativity. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

• Salary increase to £49,000pa at 12 months
• Full time and part time available (3, 4 or 5 days per week available)

What we look for;

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN or RMN) OR a HCPC qualified Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist) with 1 year’s or more broad post-registration experience

No experience as a WCA Functional Assessor is needed as full training will be provided which you will be paid your full-time salary for. All we expect is that you will have 1 years post graduate experience as an RGN, RMN, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist and hold an NMC or HCPC registration.
