Job summary

Maven Group Ltd is recruiting for a WCA Functional Assessor in Bournemouth. The role involves conducting up to five client assessments per day via telephone, video, or face-to-face, to evaluate how health conditions impact work capability. Training is provided, and you will be paid your full-time salary during training.

Initial salary starts at £42,000 per year, with a raise to £43,000 after 12 months. Roles are available as full-time or part-time with a flexible 3–5 day week and hybrid/on-site

• 1 year post-registration experience in a relevant clinical setting.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Competent IT and computer skills.
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health.

Responsibilities

• Carry out 5 client assessments per day via telephone, video or face-to-face.
• Listen to experiences, ask questions and document findings for the report.
• Produce a factual report to inform DWP eligibility decisions.
• Full training will be provided and paid at full salary.

Job description

What does the WCA Functional Assessor role involve?

The WCA Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their ability to perform work-related ativity. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

What we look for;

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN or RMN) OR a HCPC qualified Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist) with 1 year’s or more broad post-registration experience
• Someone who’s proactive and keen to learn

• Competent IT and computer skills
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health

No experience as a WCA Functional Assessor is needed as full training will be provided which you will be paid your full-time salary for.

All we expect is that you will have 1 years post graduate experience as an RGN, RMN, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist and hold an NMC or HCPC registration.
