Job summary

Maven Group Ltd is recruiting for a WCA Functional Assessor in the UK. The role involves performing five client assessments per day via telephone, video or face-to-face contacts, gathering information and producing factual reports to help the Department for Work and Pensions determine benefit eligibility.

Training is provided, and the DWP makes the final decision. The position offers an excellent starting salary of £42,000 per year, with a rise to £43,000 after 12 months.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse (RGN or RMN) or HCPC qualified professional with 1 year+ post-registration experience
• Full training for the WCA role will be provided
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Competent IT and computer skills
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health

Responsibilities

What does the WCA Functional Assessor role involve?

The WCA Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their ability to perform work-related ativity. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN or RMN) OR a HCPC qualified Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist) with 1 year’s or more broad post-registration experience

• Competent IT and computer skills
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health

No experience as a WCA Functional Assessor is needed as full training will be provided which you will be paid your full-time salary for. All we expect is that you will have 1 years post graduate experience as an RGN, RMN, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist and hold an NMC or HCPC registration.
