Job summary

SJB Medical is recruiting a Functional Assessor in London. You will review how health conditions affect daily living and work capability, using clinical expertise across in-person and remote assessments with robust report writing for the DWP.

You'll join a collaborative team, maintaining regular hours (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm) with a focus on professional development and work-life balance at Golders Green.

About the role

As a Functional Assessor, you'll use your clinical expertise to assess how health conditions impact people's daily lives and ability to work. It's a role that blends medical knowledge with meaningful human connection - giving you the chance to support individuals while contributing to a fair and compassionate benefits system.

You'll carry out assessments both face-to-face and via video or phone, taking detailed medical histories and conducting physical examinations. Your findings will help inform accurate, high-quality reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). • A registered Nurse, Paramedic, Occupational Therapist, Pharmacist or Physiotherapist with at least 12 months' post-registration UK experience

• Digitally capable, with experience using clinical software and systems


• Self-motivated and organised, with a focus on quality and integrity
