Job summary

SJB Medical is recruiting a Functional Assessor in the Canning Town area. You will assess how health conditions affect daily living and work capacity, using both in-person and remote methods.

You’ll contribute to accurate DWP reports while maintaining clinical independence within a collaborative team. The ideal candidate is a qualified healthcare professional with at least 12 months UK post-registration experience, strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills.

• Registered healthcare professional with 12 months post-registration UK experience
• Strong clinical decision-making and understanding of functional assessment
• Excellent communication and digital literacy in clinical software
• Self-motivated, organized and team-oriented

Responsibilities

• Conducts face-to-face, video or phone assessments with patients
• Takes detailed medical histories and performs physical examinations
• Produces high-quality reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
• Works independently within a supportive multidisciplinary team

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

About the role

As a Functional Assessor, you'll use your clinical expertise to assess how health conditions impact people's daily lives and ability to work. It's a role that blends medical knowledge with meaningful human connection - giving you the chance to support individuals while contributing to a fair and compassionate benefits system.

You'll carry out assessments both face-to-face and via video or phone, taking detailed medical histories and conducting physical examinations. Your findings will help inform accurate, high-quality reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
