Job summary

Schenk UK is hiring an experienced Class 1 LGV Fuel Driver for a tramping role based at Ellesmere Port. The position runs Monday to Friday with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance. You will handle fuel transportation across national routes, with paid breaks and regular ADR/CPC refreshers.

The role requires at least 2 years of Class 1 and tanker experience, a valid PDP, ADR qualifications, and a clean driving record. Overtime, full PPE, and driver training are provided.

Qualifications

• An LGV Class 1 licence with no more than six points.
• A tachograph card.
• A Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
• A valid ADR licence all classes other than 1 & 7.
• A strong understanding of Driver Transport Legislation; a safety focus.
• Minimum 2 years Class 1 experience.
• At least 2 years Tanker Experience.
• A valid PDP (Petroleum Driver Passport).

Responsibilities

• Operate as a Class 1 LGV Fuel Driver on a Monday–Friday tramping pattern.
• Ensure compliance with Driver Transport Legislation and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records for tachograph use and ADR requirements.
• Undertake CPC refresher training as required and participate in safety programs.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Class 1 LGV Fuel Driver to join our team based at Ellesmere Port, working a Monday‑to‑Friday tramping shift pattern. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A TRAMPING ROLE.

Pay Rates:

• £21.63 per hour with a 10‑hour guarantee per shift
• £28.84 per hour overtime (Monday‑to‑Friday after 10 hours)
• £28.84 per hour for all hours worked on Saturdays
• £32.45 per hour for all hours worked on Sundays
• £43.26 per hour for worked hours on Bank Holidays (plus day in lieu)
• £33.40 per Night shift worked
• £4.15 meal payment per shift
