Job summary

Hatfield Primary Academy is seeking a Foundation Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join the Early Years team. You will support the class teacher, foster a positive learning environment and help children develop socially, emotionally and academically through structured learning and play.

Hours are 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday during term time. This role offers a permanent position with 32.5 hours per week in a supportive school community with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at 4/C or above (or equivalent).
• Paediatric First Aid qualification is desirable.
• Experience in an Early Years setting with young children.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and commitment to inclusion and equality.

Responsibilities

• Support children to access learning opportunities across all areas of the Early Years curriculum.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and progress.
• Foster children's communication, language, literacy, numeracy and social development.
• Help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
• Encourage independence, confidence, resilience and positive behaviour.
• Support learning through indoor and outdoor activities.
• Observe children's development and share information to support assessment and planning.
• Assist in preparing resources and maintaining engaging learning spaces.
• Support children with personal care and wellbeing needs where required.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues to support children's success.
• Contribute to safeguarding, inclusion and the wider life of the school.
