Job summary

Oxspring Primary School in Barnsley is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant (Grade 2) to support Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 learners, under the guidance of the class teacher, and to help children develop strong early learning foundations in a warm EYFS setting. This 27.5-hour-per-week, term-time-only role is offered on a fixed contract to 31 August 2027, with a pro rata salary of £25,614–£26,016.

Qualifications

• 12 months FS2 experience or more
• Understanding of EYFS and KS1 curriculum
• Ability to work with children in small groups and one-to-one

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of planned learning activities within a structured environment
• Assist children’s learning through play-based and adult-led activities
• Work with small groups and individuals, including 1:1 support
• Support children with SEND
• Promote early reading, writing and maths skills
• Encourage independence and positive learning behaviours
• Assist with preparation and maintenance of resources
