Job summary

Hatfield Primary Academy is seeking a Foundation Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team. You will support children as they begin their school journey, helping create a positive, engaging learning environment that fosters social, emotional, and academic development.

Working hours are 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, during term time only. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to safeguarding, inclusion, and the wider life of the school while providing

Qualifications

Holds GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
Holds a relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification, such as CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce or NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education.
Holds a Paediatric First Aid qualification.
Has experience working with young children in an Early Years setting.
Understands child development and safeguarding best practices.

Responsibilities

Support children to access learning across the Early Years curriculum.
Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
Foster communication, language, literacy, numeracy and social development.
Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment with structured learning and play.
Observe development and assist with assessment and planning.
Prepare resources and maintain engaging learning spaces.
Support with personal care and wellbeing as required.
Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
