Job summary

Pyrland School seeks a friendly 1st Line IT Technician to join the dedicated technical support team at Pyrland School as part of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership. You will provide frontline ICT support to staff and students to keep the digital learning environment running smoothly.

You will set up and maintain desktops and laptops, manage user accounts, apply patches, and assist with cloud services. A UK driving licence is required to travel between MAT sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 5/C or above (including English and Maths).
• In-depth understanding of supporting Windows desktop operating systems, MS Office applications, and standard networking technologies (LAN/WAN).
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, a professional attitude, and a logical approach to troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line ICT support to staff and students across the School.
• Set up, maintain, repair, and upgrade desktop PCs, laptops, peripherals, and software applications.
• Manage user accounts and permissions, assist with password resets, patches, and cloud services (Google/Unify).
• Monitor disk space, print management (PaperCut), VOIP phones, wireless connections.
• Maintain IT inventories and ensure health & safety compliance.
