Job summary

Leicester City Council’s Dawn Centre is seeking a full-time Accommodation Officer to provide safe emergency temporary accommodation for a vulnerable single homeless cohort. You’ll join a 19-person team, working 37 hours per week on a 12-hour shift pattern, including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

You will interview, admit and induct individuals on arrival, and oversee maintenance, security and infrastructure while conducting welfare checks.

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable adults in housing, social care, or front-line services.
• Strong communication, empathy and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate records using MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Interview and admit individuals on arrival at the Dawn Centre.
• Oversee maintenance, security and infrastructure of the Dawn Centre.
• Conduct regular welfare checks and record keeping.
