Job summary

Mercor is seeking a PhD-level researcher to tackle research-grade physics problems in a focused subfield. You will create, solve, review, or audit tasks with transparent written reasoning and evidence from your own papers.

Applicants should have a verifiable publication record (3–5 papers with arXiv IDs or DOIs) and proficiency in LaTeX, Python, SymPy, and Jupyter. This is remote, 10 hours per week, for 8 to 10 weeks, paid at $80–$110 per hour.

Qualifications

• PhD in mathematical physics, theoretical physics or mathematics.
• Three to five representative papers with arXiv IDs or DOIs, ideally from the last five years.
• English at B2 or above, including written reasoning.
• Proficiency with LaTeX, Python, SymPy and Jupyter; familiarity with VS Code is a plus.
