Houston & Hawkes is seeking a warm, polished Front of House General Assistant for a prestigious London corporate workplace. You will welcome guests, set up attractive service areas, assist the coffee bar, and help deliver thoughtful hospitality across daily operations.

The role emphasizes friendly customer service, attention to detail, teamwork, and flexibility during busy periods. Excellent communication and a genuine passion for hospitality are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in front-of-house catering, hospitality, café service or a similarly service-led environment is desirable.
• A naturally friendly, confident and customer-focused personality with excellent communication skills.
• A keen eye for detail and pride in maintaining immaculate food displays and guest spaces.
• A positive, flexible approach and the ability to stay calm, organised and helpful during busy periods.
• A reliable team player who enjoys supporting colleagues and creating a great customer experience.
• An interest in coffee and hospitality service; additional training can be provided.

Responsabilités

• Welcome customers warmly and provide attentive, friendly and professional service throughout the day.
• Set up and maintain attractive front-of-house displays, counters and service areas, keeping everything fresh, clean and well stocked.
• Replenish food and beverage stations throughout service, ensuring displays remain inviting and organised.
• Check that food labels, menus and allergen information are correctly displayed, escalating queries to the appropriate team member.
• Prepare front-of-house areas for service, including polishing cutlery and maintaining presentation standards.
• Clear and reset tables, tidy guest areas and ensure the restaurant remains clean and welcoming.
• Assist the barista and coffee bar team during busy periods, helping with drinks service and keeping the area stocked and presentable.
• Support meeting-room hospitality, refreshments and events, including setting up, serving and clearing down.

From preparing the restaurant for service tosupporting the coffee bar and delivering thoughtful hospitality, yourcontribution will help make each day run smoothly.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
