Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Catering Assistant, Front of House Assistant or Hospitality Assistant.
• Experience within premium contract catering or a five-star hotel or another high-quality hospitality environment would be highly desirable.
• A genuine passion for exceptional service and guest experience.
• A warm, confident and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Prepare front-of-house and restaurant areas for breakfast and lunch service.
• Serve food with confidence, warmth and attention to detail.
• Keep counters, displays and service areas beautifully presented and replenished.
• Monitor the food offer and ensure everything remains fresh and inviting.
• Provide a warm, polished, professional service to guests throughout the day.
• Support coffee service when required, including preparing and serving quality hot drinks.
• Assist with meeting room and hospitality service when needed.
• Support set-up and delivery of hospitality, working lunches and events.
• Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house teams for seamless service.
• Clear, reset and maintain service areas throughout the day.
• Maintain immaculate presentation and cleanliness across front-of-house areas.
• Follow food safety, allergen, hygiene and health and safety standards.

CATERING ASSISTANT

Houston & Hawkes is looking for an experienced Catering Assistant to join our front-of-house team at an exciting new client site. This is a polished, guest-facing role for someone who takes real pride in presentation, service and making sure every detail is exactly as it should be.

You’ll be an important part of the daily service, helping to prepare the restaurant for breakfast and lunch, serving guests, keeping counters beautifully presented and fully replenished, and ensuring the entire service runs smoothly. You’ll also have the opportunity to support coffee service and hospitality when required, giving you plenty of variety throughout the week.

THE ROLE

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Previous experience as a Catering Assistant, Front of House Assistant or Hospitality Assistant

• A positive, hands‑on attitude and willingness to support different areas of the service
• Good communication skills and a strong team mentality
• Barista or coffee service experience would be an advantage
• A polished, reliable and organised approach to your work
