Houston & Hawkes is recruiting a Front of House General Assistant for 1 Soho Place, London. The role focuses on warm, professional service, ensuring food displays are attractive and guests are looked after from preparation to service.

You will support the coffee bar, assist with meetings and events, and work as part of a friendly team to maintain high presentation standards in a modern corporate workplace.

Qualifications

• Experience in front-of-house catering, hospitality, café service or a service-led environment is desirable.
• A naturally friendly, confident and customer-focused personality with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers warmly and provide attentive, friendly and professional service throughout the day.
• Set up and maintain attractive front-of-house displays, counters and service areas, keeping everything fresh and stocked.
• Replenish food and beverage stations to keep displays inviting and organized.
• Check that labels, menus and allergen information are displayed correctly and escalate queries as needed.
• Prepare front-of-house areas for service, polish cutlery and maintain immaculate presentation standards.
• Clear and reset tables, tidy guest areas and keep the restaurant welcoming.
• Assist the barista and coffee bar during busy periods, helping with drinks service and stock.

Youwill be part of a friendly, professional front-of-house team, ensuring that thefood service areas are beautifully presented, customers feel looked after andevery detail is taken care of. From preparing the restaurant for service tosupporting the coffee bar and delivering thoughtful hospitality, yourcontribution will help make each day run smoothly.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Follow food safety, hygiene, allergenand health and safety procedures at all times.

• Experience in front-of-housecatering, hospitality, café service or a similarly service-led environment isdesirable.
• A keen eye for detail and pride inmaintaining immaculate food displays and guest spaces.

• A reliable team player who enjoyssupporting colleagues and creating a great customer experience.
• An interest in coffee and hospitalityservice; additional training can be provided.
