Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking a part-time Customer Delivery Driver in Cardiff to bring Waitrose produce and Partner-led service directly to customers’ doors. The role involves active, physical, customer-facing work, route familiarisation, and in-vehicle safety checks, with some in-store tasks when not on the road.

You’ll support flexible hours across seven days, handling substitutions, refunds, and high‑quality service, while upholding the Waitrose ethos and professional appearance.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older.
• Hold a full, valid UK manual car driving license (B) with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Excellent people skills and friendly customer service approach.
• Be prepared for physical work, lifting crates, stairs, and moving large items (≈18kg).

Responsibilities

• Start in-store and then deliver to customers.
• Provide friendly Waitrose service on the road and ensure excellent customer care.
• Discuss substitutions or short-dated items and arrange refunds if needed.
• Handle deliveries with care and treat items as if your own.
• Ensure customers aren’t charged extra for substitutions.
• Assist customers with groceries and build trusted relationships.
• Familiarise yourself with daily delivery routes.
• Conduct a full safety check on the van before route; adhere to safety rules.
• Assist the wider CFC team with warehouse tasks when off the road.
