Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver to bring Waitrose quality directly to customers' doors. You will be a friendly, professional face on the road, ensuring accurate deliveries, handling substitutions, refunds, and maintaining high service standards.

You'll start in-store, then head out on a well-equipped van, performing safe driving checks and contributing to a supportive team. Flexible, part-time hours and DBS checks may be required during recruitment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older.
• Hold a full, valid UK manual car driving license (B-Category) with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Bring excellent people skills and a friendly customer-service approach.
• Be prepared for physical tasks, such as lifting crates and moving items (up to ~18kg).

Responsibilities

• Start in-store and represent the Waitrose brand on the road with top customer service.
• Discuss order changes with customers and arrange refunds if needed.
• Handle products with care and ensure substitutions do not incur extra charges.
• Assist customers with groceries and build trustful relationships.
• Familiarize yourself with the day’s delivery route and perform van safety checks.
• Support the wider team with warehouse tasks when off the road.
