Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking Customer Delivery Drivers to bring Waitrose produce and partner-led service directly to customers’ doors. This role is highly active and customer-facing, with duties complemented by shop tasks when not on the road.

You'll drive modern, well-serviced vehicles, uphold safety priorities, and support flexible or varied hours across seven days, including weekends. DBS checks and pre-employment vetting may apply.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Hold a full UK manual car driving license (B category) with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Bring excellent people skills and a friendly approach to customer service.
• Be prepared for physical work, including lifting crates and moving items up to ~18kg.

Responsibilities

• Be a friendly face for the Waitrose brand while on the road, delivering great customer service.
• Communicate with customers about order changes (substitutions or short-dated items) and arrange refunds if needed.
• Handle products and deliveries with care and keep items in good condition.
• Inform customers about substitutions with no extra charges when applicable.
• Help customers with groceries and build trustful relationships.
• Familiarise yourself with the daily delivery route.
• Perform a full safety check on the van to ensure road readiness and compliance.
• Assist the wider CFC team with general warehouse tasks when off the road.
