Job summary

DSV Road GmbH in Immingham is seeking a Freight Forwarder to manage import/export bookings and ensure regulatory compliance. You will coordinate with carriers, customs and internal teams to keep shipments moving efficiently.

The role requires strong IT skills, experience in freight forwarding, and excellent communication. You will contribute to accurate documentation, invoicing and planning of collections and deliveries within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in freight forwarding, including imports/exports.
• Proven ability to manage bookings and coordinate with carriers.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer export and import bookings, ensuring requirements are met.
• Coordinate with offices, agents, shipping lines, hauliers and customs.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, procedures and standards.
• Arrange transport with approved hauliers and negotiate pricing.
• Prepare documentation for warehouse, distribution and shipping teams.
• Handle invoicing, cost checks, claims and queries.
• Communicate clearly with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Support daily planning of collections and deliveries.
• Maintain awareness of transport and HM Customs regulations.

Freight Forwarder -Imports/Exports Full loads

Immingham

Join the team at DSV in Immingham and play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient movement of cargo to and from Scandinavia. Reporting to the Manager, you’ll manage customer bookings, coordinate with carriers and internal teams, and ensure all operational, customs and legislative requirements are met to deliver exceptional service and maximize efficiency.

What will you be doing?

• Manage customer export and import bookings, ensuring all requirements are met accurately and professionally.
• Coordinate with DSV offices, agents, shipping lines, hauliers and customs to keep freight moving smoothly.
• Ensure full compliance with legislation, customs procedures and company operational standards.
• Arrange transport through approved hauliers, negotiating pricing when required.
• Prepare all necessary documentation for warehouse, distribution and shipping teams.
• Handle general administration including invoicing, cost checking, claims and queries.
• Communicate clearly and efficiently with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Support daily planning of collections and deliveries to maximise resource efficiency.
• Maintain a strong awareness of transport and HM Customs regulations.

About You

• Strong IT skills and confidence using digital communication tools
• Recent experience in a freight forwarding role (preferred).
• Excellent communication skills with colleagues and external stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to compliance, safety, and operational standards.
• Ability to work accurately in a fast paced, team focused environment.
