Job summary

Invision Group seeks an experienced Setting Out Engineer for an 8-week freelance assignment in Bognor Regis, West Sussex. You will deliver accurate setting out across an industrial warehouse project, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to high standards.

Reporting to the Senior Site Engineer, you will conduct grid setting, bolt setting, and surveying duties, maintaining records and liaising with the management team to keep the programme on track.

Qualifications

• CSCS card is essential.
• Experience delivering setting out on industrial, commercial or logistics projects.
• Proficient with modern robotic surveying equipment and CAD.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Responsibilities

Freelance Setting Out Engineer – Bognor Regis, West Sussex – £300‑£325 per day (CIS) – Immediate Start, 8‑Week Contract

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join one of the UK's leading £1bn turnover Main Contractors on a £20m new build industrial warehouse development in Bognor Regis.

This is an 8‑week freelance contract on a major industrial project currently in the groundworks phase. You'll be responsible for delivering accurate setting out across the site, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of this industrial warehouse project.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out grid lines for the construction works.
• Setting out holding down bolts with a high degree of accuracy.
• Carrying out setting out and surveying duties across the project.
• Producing and maintaining accurate site records and as-built information.
• Working closely with the site management and engineering teams to ensure works are delivered to programme.
• Ensuring all setting out is completed in accordance with project specifications and drawings.
• Supporting quality control procedures throughout the construction process.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Setting Out Engineer for a Main Contractor.
• Experience on industrial, commercial or logistics developments.
• Proficient in the use of the latest robotic surveying equipment (Leica, Trimble or Topcon).
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of setting out techniques and surveying principles.
• CSCS Card (essential).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
