Job summary

Apex Resources Ltd is seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer for a busy civil engineering/infrastructure project in Haslingden, Lancashire. The six-month contract offers the chance to contribute to accurate, safe, and on-programme delivery, working with the site management team on a fast-paced project.

You will be responsible for setting out works, maintaining site records, interpreting drawings, and providing technical guidance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• CSCS card essential.
• Engineering qualification (HNC/HND or Degree) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Setting out for a range of civil engineering works.
• Producing and maintaining accurate site records and as-built surveys.
• Interpreting drawings and specifications.
• Carrying out quality checks and ensuring works meet required tolerances.
• Supporting site teams with technical guidance and resolving engineering queries.
• Liaising with subcontractors, site management and the client team.
• Ensuring all works are delivered in line with health, safety and quality standards.

An established civil engineering contractor is looking for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a busy infrastructure project in Haslingden. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract with a well-respected business delivering high-quality civil engineering works across the UK.

You'll play a key role in ensuring works are delivered accurately, safely and to programme, working closely with the site management team on a fast-paced project.

The Role

• Setting out for a range of civil engineering works.

• Carrying out quality checks and ensuring works meet required tolerances.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in the use of Leica, Trimble or Topcon surveying equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of QA processes and site documentation.
• CSCS card essential.
• Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND or Degree) desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach on site.
