Job summary

Goodstack is seeking an experienced Fraud Risk Manager to own detection, measurement, and response to fraud, shaping the function and its growth. You’ll collaborate with Operations, Product, and Engineering, setting direction and the operating model while evolving with fraud trends.

Ideal candidates have strong risk judgement, technical fluency to work with engineers, and a track record of building fraud programs from early stages to scale, including policy, thresholds, and vendor decisions.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years in fraud or risk roles, preferably payments or fintech.
• Proven ability to set risk appetite, detection thresholds, and policies.
• Comfort collaborating with engineers and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Own fraud threat model, thresholds, and balance between fraud and genuine users.
• Define policies for eligibility burden and escalation workflows.
• Design measurement framework for detection accuracy and guardrails.
• Lead ML roadmap for fraud detection with build siting in engineering.
• Develop and mentor fraud specialists and SLAs across teams.
• Guide tooling, vendor decisions, and build vs buy strategies.
