Job summary

Harnham is seeking a Head of Fraud in London, offering a hybrid working pattern. You will own the fraud strategy and lead hands‑on data science and AI initiatives to build intelligent fraud prevention capabilities that protect customers while supporting sustainable growth.

You will combine strategic leadership with practical delivery, building classifiers and deploying AI-driven insights across data sources.

Qualifications

Strong experience in fraud prevention or financial crime within UK consumer lending or financial services.
Hands-on experience deploying fraud or risk models into production.
Advanced Python and SQL skills with machine learning knowledge.
Experience with LLMs, agentic AI and AI-driven decisioning, including governance.
Knowledge of Git, testing, CI/CD, cloud environments and model monitoring.
Ability to translate complex fraud and technical topics for technical stakeholders and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Define fraud strategy across customer, document, third‑party and asset‑related risks.
Build and deploy AI‑driven fraud identification capabilities using multiple data sources.
Develop fraud classifiers, anomaly detection, document intelligence and network analysis solutions.
Use machine learning to identify emerging threats, including synthetic identities and application fraud.
Own production of fraud models: testing, CI/CD, monitoring and governance.
