Job summary

Newlon Housing Trust is seeking an experienced Fraud Investigation Officer for a fixed-term contract until March 2027. You will join the Fraud Investigation Team to conduct enquiries, gather evidence, and interview residents and witnesses, supporting legal action where required.

The role focuses on tenancy fraud, occupancy, and housing management investigations, with an aim to recover assets and protect rental income. Experience in housing-related fraud is advantageous.

Fraud Investigation Officer (fixed-term contract until March 2027)

Description

Newlon Housing Trust is a successful charitable housing association and one of the major providers of new affordable housing in north and east London.

We have an opportunity for an experienced individual to join our Fraud Investigation Team and provide support across tenancy fraud, succession, occupancy and housing management investigations. You will undertake enquiries, gather evidence, interview residents and witnesses and support legal action where required. You will also contribute to the recovery of housing assets, protection of rental income and effective use of homes by ensuring properties are occupied in accordance with tenancy conditions.

An experienced investigator with strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, you will have experience of conducting investigations, gathering evidence and working with a range of stakeholders to solve complex issues. Knowledge of housing, tenancy management, fraud management, fraud investigation or enforcement activity would be advantageous.

This is a non-hybrid role, where you’ll be working out of purpose-built offices that form part of the award-winning Hale Village regeneration project, and are situated just two minutes’ walk from the major transport interchange at Tottenham Hale.

Salary: £39,939 per annum plus opportunity to earn performance related pay

Hours: 35 hours per week
