Job summary

Cardinal Newman College in Penwortham (UK) is seeking a Foundation Learning Support Tutor to provide pastoral support for students with learning difficulties and disabilities, and to assist with personal care and social development as part of the Foundation Learning team.

Qualifications

• To provide pastoral support for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to safeguarding and equality.
• Experience supporting students in social and behavioural development.
• Ability to support students with personal care and mobility needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral support for students with learning difficulties/disabilities.
• Support students with additional needs including personal care, toileting, mobility, behaviour management.
• Assist students during breaks and lunchtimes to develop social skills and access college facilities.
• Contribute to initial and ongoing assessment of students and their progress, including transition.
• Facilitate flexible learning support in classes, external venues, or infilling into mainstream environments.

Education

GCSEs in English and Mathematics (Grade A-C / 9-4) or equivalent
