Job summary

Cardinal Newman College in Preston invites applications for a Foundation Learning Support Tutor. The role focuses on pastoral support for students with learning difficulties and disabilities, with responsibilities including assisting with personal care, social development, and assessment.

The successful candidate will hold GCSEs in English and Maths (A*-C/9-4) and work as part of the Foundation Learning team within a Catholic ethos.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with additional needs.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and equality.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral support for students with learning difficulties, disabilities and other complex needs.
• Support students with personal care, toileting, mobility and behaviour management as required.
• Assist students during breaks and lunchtimes to develop social skills and access college facilities.
• Contribute to initial and ongoing assessment of students and their progress including transitions.
• Facilitate flexible support and development of learning opportunities across departments and venues.
