Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication and case recording skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise kinship foster carers with guidance and professional support.

About The Role:

Gloucestershire is seeking anexperienced Supervising Social Workerto join its friendly and supportiveKinship Support Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified social worker to play a vital role in supportingkinship foster carersacross Gloucestershire and further afield. You will work closely with children's social workers and partner professionals to ensure children and young people are living in safe, stable and nurturing homes where they can thrive.

The role will also involve responsibility forprivate fostering arrangements across the county, providing an important statutory safeguarding function and ensuring children and young people's welfare and wellbeing remain at the center of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and supportkinship foster carers, providing ongoing guidance, advice and professional support.


• Build positive and effective relationships with foster carers, children, young people and their families.


• Work closely with children's social workers and other professionals to promote positive outcomes for children.


• Undertake regular visits to foster placements and private fostering households.


• Monitor the quality, safety and suitability of care arrangements.


• Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.


• Support carers to develop their skills and confidence in meeting children's individual needs.


• Provide advice and guidance around placement stability, safeguarding and children's wellbeing.


• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, assessments and reports in line with statutory requirements.
