Job summary

Warwickshire County Council is recruiting a Fostering Supervising Social Worker to cover Warwickshire for a 2-year fixed term, full-time basis (37 hours). The role involves providing supervision to foster carers, conducting home performance reviews, and producing SGO reports for court.

About the Team:

Warwickshire has a fantastic Fostering and Kinship Service, which is child focused. We recruit foster carers, assess, train and supervise and support them. We are fortunate to have psychologist practitioners who are based in our team. We will offer the successful candidate regular supervision and support. About the Role:

We are recruiting for the role of Supervising Social Worker in our Fostering and Kinship service covering Warwickshire for a 2-year fixed term, full-time basis.

Details of the role:
  • Provide a range of support to carers and young people to maintain the stability in foster homes for mainstream and Kinship carers, including providing supervision and support to foster carers
  • Undertake Fostering Home Performance reviews
  • To complete SGO reports for court
  • Support as required with standards of care, position of trust, allegations, placement planning meeting and placement support meetings, learning reviews and to be part of the duty team
  • Support recruitment events and social events for foster carers
Key Requirements:

The role of the Fostering Supervising Social Worker is a key position that brings together the needs of children and young people who are looked after with the support element of foster carers. We expect you to work with foster carers as partners and guide them to their full potential within parameters of the Fostering National Minimum Standards 2011. We come from a restorative practice base and encourage and celebrate successes and support to find ways of making a difference when things just don’t go so well.

For this post we are looking to recruit a Fostering Supervising Social Worker for a 2 year fixed term position which is full time, 37 hours. The post is countywide with an expectation that you may also need to support carers living outside of Warwickshire. We are offering this role so that we can meet the needs of increasingly growing fostering and kinship service. Importantly your work will be child focused, analytical, and based on safeguarding evidence.

Some evening and weekend work is required.

We would welcome you into a stable and established team and offer training and high-quality supervision.
