Connect2Dorset is recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join Dorset Council's Fostering & Kinship Team in Dorchester. You will deliver high-quality services for children, young people and families in a supportive team of professionals.

Role involves mainstream and kinship assessments, post-approval support, and delivery of the Mockingbird model, with flexible working and competitive pay plus expenses. Candidates must have SWE registration and a driving licence.

Qualifications

  • SWE registration is required to practice in England.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Experience within an English Local Authority is preferred.
  • Enhanced DBS for Children and Adults (can be arranged).

Pay: Up to £38.00 per hour + £150 per week allowable expenses+ travel

About the Role

Connect2Dorset is recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join Dorset Council's Fostering & Kinship Team. You'll be part of a supportive team of professionals delivering high-quality services for children, young people and families.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Mainstream fostering assessments
  • Kinship assessments, including Regulation 24 and Special Guardianship Orders
  • Supported Lodgings assessments and support
  • Post-approval support to foster carers and kinship carers
  • Delivery of the Mockingbird model
  • Participation in the team duty rota
Requirements
  • Social Work England (SWE) registration
  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualified experience within an English Local Authority
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Enhanced DBS for Children and Adults (can be arranged)
  • Demonstrable experience of working within the framework of the Children Act 1989, Care Planning Regulations 2010, Fostering Regulations 2011, National Minimum Standards, and other relevant legislation, statutory guidance, standards and procedures
  • Strong assessment, analytical and relationship-building skills
