Job summary

South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Forensic Step‑Down Service at Springfield University Hospital in Tooting. You will assess and treat adults with complex mental health needs transitioning from secure inpatient settings to community living, using recovery‑focused MOHO approaches.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll manage a defined caseload, contribute to CPA reviews and MAPPA, provide supervision to junior

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy (HCPC registered).
• Evidence of post‑registration training relevant to mental health/forensic practice.
• Membership of RCOT or equivalent professional body.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist occupational therapy for service users in the Forensic Step‑Down service.
• Deliver MOHO‑based assessments and interventions to promote independence and daily functioning.
• Manage a defined caseload across community and clinical settings.
• Contribute to delegated occupational therapy and multidisciplinary projects; provide supervision to junior staff and students.
• Champion equality, accessibility and inclusion within the service.
• Support CPA reviews, MAPPA processes and risk management within multidisciplinary teams.
