Brooklands Hospital seeks an Advanced Occupational Therapist to join the Inpatient AHP team, delivering person-centred OT across assessment and treatment services and forensic learning disability settings.

You will manage a specialist clinical caseload, provide supervision to junior staff, contribute to service development and governance, and work collaboratively with the MDT to maintain high standards of care.

Qualificações

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration or eligibility.
• Experience working within mental health, learning disability or forensic inpatient services.
• Strong person-centred and recovery-focused Occupational Therapy practice.
• Demonstrable experience managing a clinical caseload and delivering structured interventions.
• Experience of leadership and staff supervision.
• Strong multidisciplinary working and communication skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional development, evidence-based practice and service improvement.

Responsabilidades

• Manage a specialist clinical caseload involving individuals with complex Occupational Therapy needs.
• Interpret referrals and undertake structured initial assessments to develop a clear understanding of patients' presentation and background.
• Complete comprehensive assessments to identify functional abilities, barriers to participation and areas requiring therapeutic intervention.
• Develop and deliver individualised treatment approaches in collaboration with patients, carers, families and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Deliver and adapt planned interventions across inpatient and community settings according to clinical need and service requirements.
• Provide clinical and managerial supervision to junior and support staff, promoting safe, effective and reflective practice.
• Support the professional development of team members through regular supervision and appropriate learning opportunities.
• Provide strategic leadership within the inpatient Occupational Therapy service, contributing to service planning and operational direction.
• Support the coordination of inpatient Occupational Therapy provision, including effective allocation of resources and oversight of daily service functions.
• Contribute to service improvement, audits, evaluations and governance activities.
• Support the development of innovative and evidence-based Occupational Therapy practice.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, carers, families, multidisciplinary teams and other stakeholders, adapting communication to meet individual needs.
• Maintain professional registration requirements, engage in appraisal and CPD, and ensure ongoing clinical competence.
