Mountain Healthcare is seeking forensic custody healthcare professionals to assess detainees for fitness for detention, interview and charge, and to treat injuries and acute illness within Salfords Custody Suite. You will collect forensic samples and contribute to evidential records.

Applicants must hold NMC or HCPC registration and have at least three years’ post-qualification experience in acute or urgent settings, with a full UK driving licence and enhanced DBS clearance.

Formación

• Current NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse, or current HCPC registration as a Paramedic.
• At least three years' post-qualification experience in an acute or relevant setting (front-line ambulance, A&E, prison, custody or urgent care).
• Checks: Enhanced DBS clearance, Police vetting, full right to work in the UK, and UK residency of at least three years.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct clinical assessments for fitness for detention, interview, charge and release.
• Manage medical emergencies and respond to acute medical episodes.
• Treat injuries and provide healthcare advice in a custody environment.
• Support detainees with mental health needs, substance misuse and complex vulnerabilities.
• Support safeguarding decisions and document evidential records.
• Collect, preserve and document forensic samples to evidential standards.
• Liaise with police custody teams and NHS services for safe onward care.
• Attend hospital procedures and provide impartial statements in court when required.
