Zusammenfassung

Mountain Healthcare is seeking a registered nurse or paramedic to work in Workington Custody Suite, delivering forensic healthcare to detainees. The role involves autonomous practice across day and night shifts, with duties spanning assessment, treatment, and evidence collection within the custody setting.

Applicants must hold current NMC or HCPC registration, have at least three years post-qualification acute experience, and possess enhanced DBS with police vetting.

Qualifikationen

• Must hold current NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse, or current HCPC registration as a Paramedic.
• At least three years' post-qualification experience in an acute or relevant setting such as front-line ambulance, A&E, prison, custody or urgent care.
• Enhanced DBS clearance and police vetting; full right to work in the UK and three years' UK residency.

Aufgaben

• Assess, treat and support detainees in police custody, including fitness for detention, interview, charge and release.
• Manage acute presentations and emergencies.
• Support mental health, substance misuse and safeguarding needs.
• Carry out clinical and capacity assessments.
• Undertake forensic duties including injury assessment and evidential sample collection.
• Maintain accurate clinical and legal records.
• Advise custody teams and partner agencies.
• Attend hospital blood procedures under the Road Traffic Act.
• Provide professional statements and attend court when required.
• Work with police, NHS and partner agencies on detainee care in custody and on release.
