Job summary

Reliable Contractors Limited in Plymouth is seeking a Foreman (Groundworks) on a full-time basis to lead site activities for a major MOD redevelopment project. The role is site-based with a 45-hour week, 07:30–17:00, Monday to Friday.

You will supervise groundworks, manage subcontractors, oversee drilling and concrete works, and ensure safety and quality on site. CSCS Manager Card, SMSTS, Level 2 NVQ and BPSS eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Must have Black CSCS Manager Card.
• Level 2 NVQ in Construction Operations or NVQ in Civil Engineering Operations (Groundworks).
• SMSTS certification required.
• Previous experience as Groundworks Foreman on major projects.
• Experience in enabling works and subcontractor management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate groundworks and enabling works across site.
• Manage subcontractors and coordinate daily activities.
• Oversee core drilling, saw cutting, dowel installation and concrete base excavations.
• Coordinate labour, plant and materials to keep works on programme.
• Monitor workmanship to meet quality standards.
• Liaise with engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and site management.
• Ensure works are safe and in line with procedures.
• Monitor progress and report issues to site management.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organised working environment.
• Support delivery of major MOD infrastructure works.

Foreman (Groundworks) (Plymouth) - Fulltime

An opportunity to work on our MOD project in Plymouth, delivering major redevelopment works over the coming years.

PAYE basis

Competitive rate depending on experience/qualifications

Paid Holidays: 30 days per year (including bank holidays)

Must Have:

• Black CSCS Manager Card
• Level 2 NVQ in Construction Operations - General Construction or Level 2 NVQ Construction & Civil Engineering Operations (Groundworks)
• SMSTS
• Previous experience as a Groundworks Foreman on major construction or infrastructure projects
• Experience in enabling works, including managing subcontractors
• Experience in core drilling, saw cutting, dowel installation and concrete base excavations
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures
• Ability to manage and coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors
• Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills
• Reliable and proactive approach to work
• Must be eligible for BPSS Security Clearance
• Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years

This role is site based - Monday to Friday

45 hours per week 07:30am - 17:00pm
