Job summary

RTL Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Foreman for a major groundworks package in Barking. You will supervise day-to-day site operations, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate labour, plant and materials on a fast-paced RC frame project in London’s Barking area.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and qualifications such as SMSTS/SSSTS and Gold CSCS Card. Immediate start for a 4-6 month contract with potential longer-term opportunities.

• Coordinate labour, plant and materials to maximise productivity.
• Oversee all aspects of the groundworks package including earthworks and drainage.

Foreman - Groundworks

Location: Barking, East London

Rate: £260-£280 per day (DOE) - Outside IR35

Foreman - Groundworks - Immediate Start - Barking

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Foreman to join a large, well-established groundworks subcontractor on a major groundworks package for an RC frame development in the Barking area.

Our client is a leading groundworks subcontractor operating across London and the South East, with a substantial pipeline of secured work. Due to client confidentiality, further project details will be disclosed at the interview stage.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Foreman looking for a long-term contract, with 4-6 months remaining on the current project and genuine opportunities to move onto future schemes.

The Role

Working closely with the Site Manager and project team, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. Health & Safety is a key priority on this project, so maintaining excellent site standards is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of a busy groundworks package.
• Manage gangs, subcontractors and site operatives.

• Oversee all aspects of the groundworks package, including earthworks, drainage, foundations, concrete works, RC slabs, ducting, kerbing, hard landscaping and associated external works.
• Monitor quality standards and resolve site issues as they arise.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Foreman working for a groundworks or RC frame subcontractor.
• Strong background delivering groundworks packages on RC frame developments.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• SMSTS or SSSTS - Essential.
• Gold CSCS Card - Essential.
• Additional relevant qualifications and tickets are advantageous.
