Job summary

Mount Charles Group is recruiting a Food Service Assistant to join our team at Newcastle, County Down. The role involves preparing, serving and selling food and beverages while delivering excellent customer service in a busy unit.

Working pattern is 30 hours per week with one weekend on and one weekend off. You will assist with stock control, ensure HACCP compliance, and keep the kitchen and service areas clean. Benefits include 20 days annual leave, company pension, wellbeing programs and more.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable passion for providing good customer service.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability.
• Good navigation and time management.
• Basic HACCP knowledge.
• Basic statutory training and reading/writing/listening skills for safety tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, service and sales of all food and beverages.
• Preparation of service counter.
• Provide the highest level of customer service in a consistent approach to anyone who uses the facility.
• Work as part of the team to ensure service is delivered on time and to a consistently high standard.
• Carry out all cleaning duties as per instruction from line manager or per unit cleaning rota.
• Ensure kitchen and service areas are always clean and tidy.
• Clear rooms of any trays.
• Be responsible for cash handling duties under your control.
• Keep up to date with current promotions and new products.
• Comply with all Health, Safety & Hygiene standards.
• Comply with all HACCP regulations as necessary.
• Follow procedures as directed on the correct handling and use of all cleaning materials.
• Complete any administration as requested which may include recording of food temperatures, updating cleaning schedules, cashing up tills and recording daily sales figures.
• Assist with effective management of stock control.
