Sainsbury’s Group in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Food Manager to drive operational excellence in our Newbury store. You will lead a team on the shop floor, model high standards, and ensure smooth daily operations while delivering outstanding customer service.

You’ll coach colleagues, manage performance and scheduling, and take ownership of store performance, especially around stock availability and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Previous line management responsibilities in a fast-paced, operational environment.
• Delivers KPIs and performance indicators.
• Coaches teams to provide brilliant customer service.
• Experience handling disciplinary and employee relations matters.
• Leads operations and manages daily store activities independently if needed.

Responsibilities

• Role modelling and coaching for high standards and efficiency across the whole food hall.
• Managing compliance to processes whilst bringing the passion and flare for great shop keeping and customer service.
• Ensure every customer gets the food they want when they shop with us to help ensure we are the first choice for food.
• People management: performance, capability, disciplinaries, scheduling and pay accuracy.
• At times you will assume overall responsibility for running the store, making sure that all colleagues are given direction and support to deliver for the customer.
