Job summary

Sainsbury's in Edgware is seeking an experienced Food Manager to lead store operations with a customer‑first approach. You will shape service delivery, coach teams to high standards and ensure daily processes run smoothly to delight shoppers.

You will manage performance, scheduling and pay, drive KPIs, and step in to run the store when needed, delivering for customers and maintaining safety and efficiency across the whole food hall.

Qualifications

• A track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences and coaching others.
• Experience leading teams in a dynamic, customer‑facing environment.
• Leadership in high‑volume, fast‑paced operations, e.g., retail, food service or hospitality.
• Proven success delivering against KPIs: sales, stock availability, customer satisfaction.
• Experience managing complex people matters including performance and absence.

Responsibilities

• Role modelling and coaching for high standards and efficiency across the whole food hall.
• Managing compliance to processes while delivering great shopkeeping and customer service.
• Ensure customers get the food they want when shopping to be first choice for food.
• People management: performance, disciplinaries, scheduling and pay.
• Occasionally running the store and directing colleagues to deliver for customers.
