The Oystercatcher, Penarth, a Hungry Horse pub, seeks an ambitious Assistant Manager to lead a busy food-led operation. You’ll drive food performance, coach a team and deliver excellent guest experiences in a high-volume setting.

Competitive salary (£31,000–£35,000) plus bonus and benefits, with room to develop as the business grows. Bring passion for great food and a readiness to lead by example.

Qualifications

• We’re keen to hear from candidates with a strong food-led hospitality background.
• Experience in a hospitality management or supervisory role is essential.
• Ability to lead, coach and develop a team in a busy environment.
• Commercial awareness and a genuine interest in driving food sales and business performance.
• Hands-on approach with the confidence to support the team during busy services.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to maintain high standards under pressure.

Responsabilités

• Drive food performance and deliver consistently great food across the extensive menu.
• Lead day-to-day pub operations and set the pace during busy services.
• Coach, motivate and support colleagues to build a confident, engaged team.
• Grow sales by identifying opportunities to improve performance and repeat visits.
• Deliver outstanding guest experiences with a warm welcome and memorable service.
• Support stock control, labour management, compliance and standards to optimise costs.
• Help establish the right team and culture for future growth and investment.
