Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking a General Assistant for ThermoFisher in Loughborough to join our education catering team. The role involves preparing and serving meals for students and staff, maintaining front-of-house cleanliness, and following food safety procedures.

The position is 22.5 hours per week, Tuesday to Thursday including shift cover, with an hourly rate of £12.71. We value flexible team players with a can-do attitude and experience in education catering; benefits include holiday

Qualifications

• Experience working in education catering is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner according to menus.
• Maintain front-of-house cleanliness and organize dishes and utensils.
• Follow food handling and storage procedures to ensure safety.
• Monitor inventory and notify management of shortages.
• Provide friendly service to students and staff during meals.
• Participate in training and meetings related to food service procedures.

Job Description

As a General Assistant you will…

• Assist in the preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner according to established menus and recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness of the front of house areas including organising dishes and utensils.
• Following proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
• Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or special dietary needs.
• Participate in training sessions and meeting related to food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Ideally have experience working within Education catering
• Have good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Flexible with a can-do attitude, customer focused.
