Job summary

English Heritage is seeking a Food and Beverage Assistant to join Kenilworth Castle team. You will help in the kitchen and perform front-of-house duties, delivering great service in a historic setting.

We value enthusiasm, teamwork and a customer-focused approach. The role is part-time (7–14 hours/week Apr–Oct) with a zero-hours contract Nov–Mar, at £12.90 per hour. Full training provided and opportunities to develop within the heritage sector.

This is a part-time role working a minimum of 7-14 hours per week from April to October, and then switching to a zero-hour contract from November to March.

As a Food and Beverage Assistant, you will be required to help in the kitchen to prepare food as well being able to perform front of house duties. You will be working as part of a team at Kenilworth Castle to support the day-to-day operations. Duties may vary depending on the day, but you can expect to be:

  • Taking and preparing food and drink orders
  • Cooking and assisting with food preparation in our kitchen
  • Providing exceptional customer service
  • Ensuring a perfect standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout
About You
  • understand what makes excellent customer service and enjoy delivering this to our customers
  • be able to engage in a positive way with people from all backgrounds
  • enjoy working as a team

Experience of working in a food and beverage role and an awareness of food safety and allergens would helpul. Full training will be provided. For us, it's more important that you have bags of enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved.
