A leading educational institution in Bath is seeking a part-time Food & Beverage Assistant to support their catering operations. This role involves taking orders, serving food, and ensuring high standards of customer service in a busy environment. Ideal candidates should have experience in a customer-focused setting and be good team players. The east hospitality team have a part‑time vacancy available for the role of Food & Beverage Assistant, working during term time. As a Food & Beverage Assistant you will be required to ensure that the day‑to‑day running of the catering operation is smooth and that customers are provided with a high standard of service at all times. Your responsibilities will include taking customer orders, serving food and drink, working on the tills, stocking food stations and assisting with cleaning and clearing tables and catering areas. Full details of this role are included in the job description. The role will predominantly be working Monday to Friday either 9.30 am to 2.30 pm or 3.30 pm to 8.30 pm, but could include early‑morning, evening and weekend shifts (5 hours a day, 25 hours per week).
The successful candidate will have experience of providing an excellent standard of customer service in a customer‑focused environment. Previous experience of working in the hospitality industry would be an advantage. You should be a good team worker and be able to be calm and professional in high‑pressure situations, as it can be extremely busy during peak times. This is a reduced part‑time contract, working 40 weeks of the year, with fixed time off (that includes personal holiday allowance) in accordance with the University's annual Academic year chart:
