Job summary

Mars Petcare’s Melton Mowbray site is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to reduce downtime and drive efficient maintenance. Join a fast-paced FMCG environment and contribute to high-speed processing with ABB/Kuka robotics and predictive tooling.

You’ll be responsible for fault finding, maintenance execution, and leading safety-focused improvements across the production line. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits await.

Qualifications

• Higher Certificate or Higher Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline, supported by practical experience.
• Proven technical expertise within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
• Strong problem-solving capability, with root cause analysis.
• Proficient in key systems and tools: Excel, PI ProcessBook, SAP Planned Maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Fault find and problem solve on a broad range of equipment.
• Deliver maintenance activities to ensure smooth production availability.
• Participate in risk assessments and formulate safe method statements.
• Identify parts for purchasing when required to complete work.
• Fix breakdowns in a timely manner during shift times.
• Conduct level one problem solving and component failure analysis.
• Log breakdowns and known jobs in Atlas.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified to a minimum of Higher Certificateor Higher Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline, supported by practical experience

• Proven technicalexpertisewithin a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.

• Strong problem-solving capability, with experience in root cause analysis of technical issues.

• Proficient in key systems and tools, including Microsoft Excel, PI ProcessBook, and SAP Planned Maintenance.

• Competent in risk assessmentand change control processes, ensuring compliance and safe working practices.

• Experienced in leading root cause analysisand fault-finding investigations to drive sustainable improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to fault find and problem solveon a broad range of equipment in a variety of situations.

• Effective delivery of maintenance activities, to ensure smooth transition between maintenance and production availability of equipment.

• Take part in risk assessments and formulationof method statements toassistin safe undertaking of any activity.

• Identifyparts for the purchasing of goodsand services where these are necessary to conclude work.

• Fix breakdownsin a timely mannerduring their shifttimeframe

• Level one problem solvingincludingcomponentfailure analysis

• Detailed entry into Atlasof all breakdowns / known jobs.
