Job summary

Sofina Foods is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering and maintenance at our Watermill Road site. You will shape the maintenance strategy, drive continuous improvement, and partner with site leadership to ensure safety, quality and productivity.

You will develop and coach a high-performing engineering team, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with audits and safety standards in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Qualifications

• Engineering leadership experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or a similar production environment.
• HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience managing maintenance budgets and engineering performance.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance and asset reliability.
• Experience supporting audits and maintaining compliance standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to prioritise multiple projects and operational demands.
• Confidence leading, coaching and developing engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead all engineering and maintenance activities across the site.
• Develop and deliver engineering priorities aligned to business objectives.
• Manage and optimise maintenance budgets to deliver best value.
• Drive a proactive maintenance culture, ensuring PPM programmes remain effective.
• Lead engineering input during customer, insurance and compliance audits.
• Champion health, safety and environmental standards across the site.
• Use performance data and management information to identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop, coach and engage engineering colleagues to maximise team performance.
