Job summary

Premier Foods is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Andover site to lead a small team of engineers, ensuring equipment reliability and safe, cost-effective production. The role will drive maintenance strategy, budgeting, and staff development at a major FMCG site.

The candidate will hold a relevant engineering degree, have 5+ years in FMCG engineering management, and demonstrate strong leadership, data analysis, and budget management skills to support site expansion and improvements.

Qualifications

• BEng degree or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years in FMCG engineering management.
• Experience leading a team (7 people) and delivering maintenance improvements.
• NEBOSH or IOSH certification preferred; demonstrates Health & Safety focus.
• Strong leadership and change management in a trade union environment.
• Proven ability to analyse data, review trends and inform decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team to improve equipment availability and reliability.
• Develop a 5-year maintenance strategy aligned with site masterplan.
• Plan and implement maintenance activities with clear milestones and budgets.
• Manage capital budgets and coordinate requests with central engineering.
• Drive energy and utilities minimisation initiatives.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff and foster a high-performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with FE policies, EH&S requirements and legislation.
• Collaborate with site leadership to set priorities and achieve site goals.
